Nowadays there are tons of options to choose from in every price range when considering what forms of self defense you may want to carry. From stun guns to batons to pepper spray, you’re sure to find something you feel most comfortable using in the time of need.

Pepper Spray

Pepper Spray is a great option to keep on your keychain, in your bag, pocket or car. I’ve always kept pepper spray at close hand throughout my college days, in Philadelphia especially. Even though I had campus security walk me to my car during night classes, a person’s own defense tools provide a better feeling of security knowing you can protect yourself if the need arises.

It’s small and easy to use. Spraying at an assailant affords a person a chance to make a run for it while the assailant is temporarily immobilized. Just be sure not to spray against the wind - it might fly right back at you! Some practice and familiarity is required for all the self defense tools I’ve listed here!

I’ve always kept pepper spray with me and gift it to all of my sisters and girlfriends. It’s important to do what we can to protect ourselves and loved ones.

Stun Gun

Stungun are great and come in lots of sizes and different variations. From stun guns that look like cell phones and lipsticks to bigger stun guns that are sure to do the job. They've definitely evolved over the past few years to become more discreet, safer to use and more effective. They’re easy to keep in your car or bag. You can also buy different colored cases from pink to black to cheetah print!

Baton are helpful tool to keep in your house or car. Even though expandable batons were originally invented for military, law and security personnel, it's become a common self defense weapon average consumers like us can purchase as well. It works by expanding at a flick of the wrist and can be used against an assailant.

What are some items you like to keep with you? Personally, I love my pepper spray and have given them to many of my friends to keep in their bags and cars. You never know when you might need it. What do you think?
